From My Porch Swing

I came across this poem in the book this evening. I don't know why I hadn't seen it before. I guess the title caught my eye.... I think she's been speaking to me all along...I just haven't been listening hard enough.

From My Porch Swing
Yellow buttercups glow
In morning sunshine.
Sweet-smelling honeysuckle and
Red rambling rose are entwined.
Birds sing praises
As they swoop in and out of
The old maple tree, gathering bounty
For the open mouths of their babes.
The earth is alive,
Freshly bathed by a summer rain.
It's June!
